KompoZer 0.8b3 in Ukrainian and Brazilian
By Kazé on Thursday, April 8 2010, 01:28 - Permalink
Two new locales have just been added to the official “Download” page: http://kompozer.net/download.php
The Ukrainian one is mainly (only?) the result of Andriy Radyk’s work. He’s done the whole translation on Narro pretty quickly before taking the time to check his langpack carefully in KompoZer itself. Thanks Andriy!
The Brazilian locale is the work of many contributors — Narro can be frustrating for us, but it sure rocks when distributing the work load among several contributors. Unfortunately, and despite the fact that there were only 60 strings to translate, there hasn’t been any activity on this locale lately. So Cédric has decided to take the untranslated strings (all related to the CSS Editor) from the Portuguese langpack: as these strings are very technical, we've supposed there won't be any problem, but let us know if there's a mistake.
We’re still looking for a Brazilian contributor to review and maintain this langpack: please ping us if you want to contribute.

Since upgrading to OSX 10.6.3, Kompozer version 0.8b3 (20100228) will not open any files using the File/Open File menu option. When I try to open a file, I get a terminal spinning beach ball, the Finder/File window never comes up and the Force Quit Window shows Kompser "Not Responding".
I have to Force Quit to get Kompozer to quit. Only way I can open an html file is to drag it to the Kompzer icon in the dock or Finder. This only works ONCE. Once Kompozer has launched, dragging additional html files to the icon does nothing.
The program is practically unuseable with 10.6.3 and I am frankly surprised that I have seen no other reports of this problem.
Hi Kaz:
I have only been using Kompozer for a few weeks but just love it. I had to switch to Kompozer because I got a new computer and the version of Dreamweaver I got from a friend was not compatible with Windows 7. Our website is a social justice website so does not make any money - there is no way we could buy a new version of Dreamweaver. Your wonderful software is very important to organizations such as ours. I would like to make a contribution but I first need to know what currency is 1€? How many 1€ to a Canadian or US dollar?
D2149 > I'm still running MacOSX 10.5.x on my old Mac Mini, but Cédric tells me the File/Open menu works fine on OSX 10.6.3 — at least with the en-US version. So I think the bug you experience might be related to something else: what’s the exact file path you’re trying to access? Are your files on a remote directory, or on an external hard drive?
Relayer76 > I think 1€ is about 1.35USD or 1.37CAD at the moment. ;-)
Maybe usefull for your code hilighting in KompoZer?

Kompozer is the "ONLY" application that is refusing to function normally with 10.6.3. I am not able to access any file menus. Selectin FILE/OPEN FILE from the drop down menu causes a spinning beach ball and Kompozer immediately becomes unresponsive. Force Quit is the only way to clear the hang.
I can drop a file onto the Kompozer Icon in the Dock or Finder and this will open the file, but this only works once. Once the app is running, dropping another file onto the icon does nothing.
Crash logs and screenshots have been sent to Fabien. You may not be able to duplicate the problem, but that doesn't change the fact that there is a SERIOUS BUG in the current version. ;o)
UPDATE! -- I just installed the latet Security Update for 10.6.3 and after restarting the machine, Kompozer is now opening the file dialog windows normally. The problem seems to have been fixed by something in this security update.
I will continue to monitor and see if the hangs return.
Very odd.
Hi Kaz and thx for your work in Kompozer. I've been using it and recomending it arround for more than 2 years now. It has it's problems but overall it's very nice package.
However, I'm having a strange issue in Ubuntu 10.04LTS. When I'm starting a program manualy from downloaded tar file everything is wokring fine, but when I'm trying to start a Kompozer from apt installation (PPA by giuseppe iuculano) nothing happens. Even in terminal when I enter 'kompozer' there is no error message, noting. Like I'm pressing Enter key I just get $ prompt.
Anyhow, great job Kaz.
