KompoZer 0.8 localized builds

For the 0.8 branch, Cédric Corazza (l10n lead) has decided to publish localized builds instead of just proposing cross-platform langpacks. Not as easy as it seemed… but the new “Download” page is ready.

KompoZer 0.8a3

KompoZerYou might have noticed I’ve just released an alpha3 on SourceForge.net:

Ismael Olea has also contributed an RPM package, built on Fedora Core 10. ¡Muchas gracias!

<edit> Jean-Lucien Baudoin has just contributed a 64-bit RPM package, also built on Fedora Core 10. Merci ! </edit>

I won’t describe the new features because I’ve received too many regression reports already, one of them being a blocker. I’ll release an alpha4 ASAP to fix these regressions, feel free to report bugs in the SourceForge tracker in the meanwhile.

On the positive side, KompoZer 0.8 is now ready for localization. Cédric Corazza has done a great job to set up an l10n repository, and we’ve designed a script to help l10n teams creating langpacks for KompoZer 0.8 — either by upgrading an existing KompoZer 0.7 langpack, or by creating one from scratch using the Mozilla 1.8 locales. I’ll give more details when the alpha4 is published in another post, but you can contact me about that already.

If you want to contribute to this project (patches, translation, builds, whatever), you’re welcome to join us on the #kompozer chan.

KompoZer 0.8a2

KompoZerA little step forward. This new alpha should solve ~50% of all bugs that have been reported for KompoZer 0.8a1, among which:

  • broken cut/copy (!)
  • missing toolbar icons and other bugs in the CSS editor
  • “getIntPref” error in the font preferences window
  • non-working “View > HTML source” menu item

KompoZer 0.8a1 now on Windows

KompoZerI’ve just built a win32 version of KompoZer 0.8a1.

Warning, it’s an alpha release. There might be more bugs than in the Linux version because I haven’t had the time to test this build properly: setting up a Windows environment and getting KompoZer to build on this platform took me much more time than expected, now I have to focus on bugfixes and getting the “make install” to work — and I confess I’m *much* more productive on Linux.

Restons vigilants.
